June 16, 2026 | 7 p.m.

Stango Park

Lewes, Delaware

Music lovers and history enthusiasts, mark your calendars for a spectacular evening under the summer stars! As part of the statewide Delaware and Lewes 250 anniversary celebrations, Coastal Concerts, in partnership with the City of Lewes, is proud to present a milestone event: “Swingin’ History: An All-American Night of Jazz.”

On June 16, 2026, at 7 p.m., Stango Park will be transformed into a vibrant time capsule. This free outdoor concert features the renowned Delmarva Big Band and promises an immersive journey through the dynamic and transformative era of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. This special collaboration brings together music, narration, and dance to honor the history of our city.

We are honored to feature Lewes City Council member and historian Trina Brown Hicks as our narrator. Known for her dedicated work in preserving the legacy of the African American community in Lewes, Trina will help tell authentic stories of the people and the culture of Southern Delaware during this era.

The first 500 guests at the concert will receive a free copy of a limited-edition commemorative booklet to take home.

We encourage residents and visitors alike to arrive early, spread out blankets or lawn chairs, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Stango Park before the music begins. We look forward to seeing you there as we unite in pride and joy to celebrate 250 years!

See the full schedule of anniversary festivities at lewes250.com and delaware250.org, or visit coastalconcerts.org for more information.

This special event is made possible in part by a prestigious DE250 grant, which recognizes our commitment to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and shaping the future of our community.
