Presenting world-class classical music concerts is a tough business. If we have to depend on ticket sales alone, every time we have a performance, we lose money. And since Coastal Concerts also supports a broad array of outreach programs such as free youth admissions, annual scholarships, free in-school concerts, instrument donations to schools, and free public outreach concerts, the gap between income generated by ticket sales and expenses is even greater. Corporate donations, advertisements in our program book, and small grants make up some of the difference, but not all. There is always a gap, and what covers that? Coastal Concerts must rely on generous contributions by our audience members and other individual supporters who value the accessibility to live, world-class chamber music performances for music lovers and youth in Southern Delaware.
