Cypress String Quartet stops in Lewes Jan. 31

Concertgoers have a special surprise in store for them when they attend The Cypress String Quartet performance Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Bethel United Methodist Church hall in Lewes.

The California-based quartet will be heating up its strings for its performance at the “Mendelssohn on the Mall” celebration Friday, Feb. 6, in conjunction with the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Museum.

Friday, Jan. 30, the day before the evening public concert, the musicians will perform in free educational outreach concerts in Beacon Middle School in Rehoboth Beach and the Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences in Georgetown. These performances are sponsored by Coastal Concerts.

Tickets for each performance in Lewes are $20 per person. Youth 18 years old and under are given free admission at the door both for themselves and for one accompanying adult.

Tickets can be purchased individually at the door, or in advance. The performance is sponsored by Coastal Concerts. Concert-goers are encouraged to buy season tickets for a savings.
