Coastal Concerts presents sing-along story time

Coastal Concerts will present a story time with a sing-along based on the classic Sesame Street story song, “We All Sing With One Voice” at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 7. This joyful song and story embrace the notion that no matter where children live, what they look like or what they do, they are all the same at heart.
Sesame Street first aired the song in 1983 on the celebrated children’s television show. The theme of “One Voice” affirms that everyone is the same inside despite looking different on the outside. The mother-daughter team of Ruth Mankin and Susan Benzel will present the program. Mankin, of Lewes, has been a longtime volunteer storyteller for Coastal Concerts. Benzel is the music director of Gymboree in North Wilmington.
“There will be dancing, bubbles, and other fun in store for children of all ages,” said Sherri Scott, the library’s director of youth services. Coastal Concerts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing classical music to the Cape Region. Through its outreach program, Coastal Concerts provides free concerts to area schools, and sponsors a used instrument program, library programs, and free tickets for youngsters to scheduled concerts.
