Free Public Outreach Concerts
Coastal Concerts presents free outreach concerts targeted towards Sussex County families, senior citizens, and/or young children. Often featuring the world-class musicians who perform on our Saturday evening subscription concert series, or young musicians who have been Coastal Concerts scholarship recipients, these outreach concerts have taken place in various venues, including local libraries.
Past programs include:
- Music Over Manhattan - story book reading with live music selected and performed by Coastal Concerts 2008 scholarship winner; South Coastal Library, April 5, 2010
- Daedalus Quartet performance and educational session for young families and senior citizens at Grace Methodist Chruch, Millsboro, Feburary 27, 2010
- French composer Francis Poulenc's Babar the Little Elephant, featuring pianist Richard Dowling and narrated by Roo Brown, at Bethel United Methodist Church Hall, Lewes; September, 2008
- Say It With Brass & Rhythm, Music that Unites the World, featuring the Meridian Arts Ensemble, at Bethel United Methodist Church Hall, Lewes; January, 2008
- Miranda - story book reading with live music selected and performed by Coastal Concerts 2007 scholarship winners; Lewes Library, June 2008
- Zin, Zin, Zin a Violin - story book reading with live music & the opportunity to hear and touch musical instruments; Lewes Library in June, 2005; Milton Library in June, 2006; and Rehoboth Beach Library in June, 2007.
- Peter and the Wolf, featuring Zephyros Winds and narrated by Roo Brown, at Bethel United Methodist Church Hall, Lewes; January, 2007
